Therefore, stay open-minded and explore Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy until you find the path that leads you to the path of mental wellness.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy to Break the Cycle of Suffering
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) blends the power of psychotherapy with the medicinal benefits of Ketamine, a Schedule III medication with a proven track record as a safe anesthetic and analgesic agent.
The use of ketamine in KAP allows individuals to access deeper parts of their psyche and work through their issues in a way that may not be possible with traditional therapy alone.
Ketamine has been studied by researchers at the National Institute of Mental Health and other research centers for its potential in treating depression, substance dependence, PTSD, and other psychiatric diagnoses.
Ketamine works as an NMDA antagonist through the glutamate neurotransmitter system, which is currently the most probable understanding of its mode of action. At the dosage level administered in KAP, a mild anesthetic, anxiolytic, antidepressant, and potentially psychedelic effects are experienced.
Transforming Mental Health Through Ketamine-Assisted pSYCHOTherapy.
• The process begins with a written intake to assess symptoms and determine if KAP is suitable for the patient.
• The patient will meet with our prescriber for an assessment to determine medical clearance for KAP.
• There will be at least two preparatory sessions with the therapist to assess if KAP is a good fit and build a safe therapeutic relationship.
• KAP sessions typically last 1.5–2.5 hours and use sublingual lozenges as the route of administration.
• Ketamine can result in a positive mood shift or surface challenging emotions and experiences, which will be processed with the therapist.
• After the first KAP session, there will be at minimum two integration sessions to discuss the patient's response to the treatment and plan an individualized course of treatment moving forwards.
• A commitment to at least three KAP sessions is recommended for the most beneficial results.
